Gears of war 2 online?

with a plethora of people playing cod: black ops, do people play gears of war 2 online anymore? I was thinking of picking it up just to finish off the achievements, but most of them are horde or online, and short of online i would have no one to play with...so does gears of war 2 still have an active online population?
