H1n1 and diabetes.....?

My friend (14 years old) was just diagnosed with diabetes a few days ago and now he is going to the hospital because his family doctor thinks he has H1N1. He has not been able to manage his blood sugars that well because he can't keep anything down. He also doesn't have a spleen. He has been having trouble breathing in the last few hours If he does have H1N1 will they admit him to the hospital? He's there now and I really need to know, I'm scared shitless!!
