Can i book a hotel room with my debit card but have somebody else check in with their ID?

I'm 16 & my friend's 18 so were going to get somebody 21 to book the room because at the marriott you need to be 21. If i book the room online with my debit card can we still get into the room if my friend uses her ID? Do they except debit cards? I have a peoples money mastercard.
