Nice restaurant (price range $15-25/plate) located in Costa Mesa?

I'm looking for a restaurant that is unique (preferably not a chain), has personality, suitable for teenagers, and would offer an enjoyable dining experience prior to an outing. We are a family of five and are going to see Cirque du Soleil after dinner. I am looking for something that is not casual but a bit less fancy and pricey than fine dining for adults.
