Any vets online??

I carelessly left half a box of chocolate chip cookies out (20 to 30 cookies) and my 20-25 pound apoo got into them. I called the animal ER and they suggested feeding him a small amount of food and then inducing vommiting. I told my mom and she said that they always say induce vommiting and doesn't feel like dealing with it. She says my dog will be fine and won't let me give him any hydrogen peroxide. He's breathing really hard and his heart rate has clearly gone up. Will he be okay or should I ignore my mom and listen to the vet?!
